THE SERVICE
See a developing condition. Give operators useful context.
Camera monitoring can add visual context to fire and smoke alert workflows in suitable warehouses, industrial spaces and commercial environments. STARK assesses the scene, camera view and response process to define a monitoring scope that complements the site’s fire-safety design.
Visual smoke or flame analytics look for supported patterns in the image. Thermal cameras instead measure thermal radiation and, on suitable models, can trigger temperature-based alerts. Some dual-sensor products combine functions, but a temperature alert and visual smoke detection are different capabilities and must be specified individually.
We review lighting, obstructions, airborne dust or steam, coverage and the selected manufacturer’s application limits. Setup can include defined detection zones, compatible event outputs, operator notification and agreed commissioning tests. Alert recipients, verification and escalation are planned with the responsible site team.
What the scope can include
- Scene and camera coverage assessment
- Visual smoke/flame analytics where the selected system supports them
- Thermal anomaly and temperature-rule planning
- Compatible event integration with monitoring software
- Agreed commissioning, alert routing and operator handover
- Review of nuisance conditions and maintenance requirements
Planning your project
- Visual detection
- Confirm the model’s smoke/flame capability, view and environmental limits
- Thermal detection
- Confirm temperature range, calibration and thermal scene requirements
- Alarm workflow
- Named operators, verified event interfaces and agreed escalation
- Safety scope
- Complement the approved fire design; confirm applicable approvals and commissioning
USEFUL ANSWERS
Common questions
Can ordinary CCTV cameras detect smoke automatically?
A camera or compatible analytics platform needs a verified smoke/flame detection function. A normal camera feed alone does not provide that capability.
Are thermal alerts the same as smoke detection?
No. Thermal temperature monitoring and visual smoke recognition detect different conditions. A specific system may support one or both.
Can these cameras replace required fire alarms?
No replacement is implied. The project must follow the approved fire-safety design and confirm the suitability and approvals of any proposed detection equipment.
